“Like most little girls, my daughters loved arts and crafts. I still have multiple bins of their creations and treasure them. The girl’s playroom was filled with art supplies. Construction paper, easels, paint brushes and paint, crayons, and glue filled boxes and drawers and shelves. Lots and lots of glitter. Since the playroom had a hard wood floor, it was easy to sweep up the shiny bits and scrape away the glitter glue gobs that always dripped off the easel. The girls’ faces were in a constant state of Tinkerbell, even after baths; glitter does not give up easily from skin. My mother loved glitter as well and would buy fairy craft kits and unicorn paint in bulk for my girls. An entire section of the basement was dedicated to arts and crafts and had even more glitter and glue than my own home. I loved that my baby girls used their imaginations on the regular to create their prized paintings, greeting cards, and princess clowns. I was and still am so proud of their artistic ability; happy they haven’t completely let go of their childhood joy of creating. They both still love glitter…and so do I. Cheers!”
