Happy Rex Manning Day! Empire Records may be one of my all-time favorite movies. Maybe it’s because I can somewhat relate to the frenzy of a has-been celeb doing a signing at a retail shop where I worked. Maybe it’s because of the outfits Liv Tyler and Renee Zellweger wore (as a short chick with pasty thighs, I never looked that good). As for my favorite scene, it is a tie between the Sugar High rooftop concert and when Liv Tyler screams “I’M BRINGING REX HIS LUNCH!!” What’s your favorite scene? Remember. We mustn’t dwell. No, not today. We can’t! Not on Rex Manning Day! Say no more, Mon Amour! Cheers!

 

I’m Bringing Rex His Lunch

 

1 1/2oz Brockman’s Gin

1/2oz St. Germain

1/2oz Key Lime Juice

1/4oz Runamok Sparkle Tonic Cocktail Mix

2oz Ume Plum Liqueur

Fever Tree Yuzu Lime Sparking Water

 

Add ingredients, minus sparking water to shaker with ice. Shake well. Strain into tall glass over ice. Top with sparkling water. Garnish with mint sprig and some edible flowers.
