Product Questions

  • Maple Syrups + Cocktail Products: Our line of maple syrups and maple-based cocktail mixers + bitters are vegan-friendly (with the exception of our Wildflower Honey Infused Maple Syrup, which contains bee honey).
Honey: Our line Runamok honey is not considered vegan-friendly, as honey is an animal product.
  • Our products do not contain GMOs, however, we are not non-GMO certified.

  • Maple Syrup and Cocktail Products: Almost all our maple syrup, maple cocktail mixers, and maple bitters are certified organic by Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont (NOFA-VT), with the exception of Hot + Spicy Maple Syrup, Salted Caramel Infused Maple Syrup, and Sparkle Syrup.
Our honey is not certified organic. Honey is a wild harvested product and we use only domestic honey from some of the best beekeepers around the United States. The reality, however, is that bees travel far and wide to collect their nectar so it is incredibly difficult to set and uphold a standard for certifying that every plant and flower visited is organic – the USDA does not currently have guidelines to certify honey produced in the US. We uphold rigorous quality standards for our producers and all of our ingredients, and we believe in the value of organic agricultural practices and environmental stewardship — so we do use organic ingredients whenever they are available, and we select the best quality ingredients when organic is not available.
  • Yes – all of our products are certified Kosher by the Orthodox Union. Search the most up-to-date listing of OU products here.

  • Honey and organic maple syrup are naturally gluten free, however our products and facility are not certified gluten free. We suggest that anyone with Celiac disease, severe gluten intolerance, or past reactions to alcohol products steer clear of our barrel-aged maple syrups, as these products are aged in barrels formerly used for spirits such as whiskey.
  • Our Maple Syrup products have a shelf life of 3 years from the date of production, and our honey products have a shelf life of 4 years from the date of production — though maple syrup and honey will never go bad if stored properly. Our Cocktail Mixers have a shelf life of 2 years. Our bitters have a shelf life of 5 years.
  • Our maple syrup and cocktail syrups both need to be refrigerated once opened. Bitters and honey do not need to be refrigerated after they’ve been opened.
  • Unrefrigerated open maple syrup has the potential to support mold growth over time. This can take weeks or months to develop (so don’t fret if you accidentally left your syrup out overnight!). Mold growth in maple most often looks like a thin white or clear film forming on the surface of the syrup. While harmless, it is certainly not desirable.

A small amount in syrup can be restored by pouring into a bowl and skimming off any impurities, re-boiling the syrup, and storing in a clean glass jar. Larger amounts can begin to affect quality and flavor.

*Please note: maple syrup can develop foam-like bubbles around the rim that take time to dissipate, particularly unopened bottles during shipment. These are unrelated to spoilage. If you are unsure or have other concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

  • The carbohydrates in honey (i.e. the natural sugars) are what cause crystallization. Almost all pure raw honey will naturally crystallize over time. This is not a bad thing, it is actually indicative of high-quality raw honey. Depending on how recently the honey was packed will determine its level of crystallization when it arrives. Infused honeys that have been heated to pasteurization will retain a liquid state longer than raw honeys.

Shipping Questions

  • Because our products are food products, we cannot accept returns.

  • We offer free ground shipping for all orders over $75 shipping in the contiguous US. Orders below $75 are charged a $7.95 flat rate within the contiguous US.
Excludes AK, HI, and territories – custom shipping rates will be calculated at checkout for these addresses based on zip code.
  • Yes. Shipping rates are calculated at checkout* for all orders outside the continental US. For customers outside of the United States, you may be required to pay additional customs fees and tariffs. While we know syrups, we do not know the customs rules for every country and can not be responsible if your syrup is seized or subject to import fees upon arrival. Please check import rules for your country before ordering.
*Please note: our web checkout sometimes has difficulty recognizing international addresses. If you have any issues generating international shipping rates at checkout, please email [email protected] or call us at 802-849-7943 and we would be happy to provide a shipping quote and help you place your order!
  • We over overnight and 2-day expedited shipping – orders must be placed before 2pm ET in order to ship same-day. Our shipping department operates Monday through Friday (excl. holidays). Any orders placed after 2pm ET will ship expedited on the following business day.
  • All orders with regular ground shipping go out in the order they are received. Non-expedited orders are generally processed and shipped within 1-3 business days – you will receive tracking to your email on file when your order is shipped. Once with the carrier, packages typically arrive within 3-7 business days, though please allow up to 10 days for shipping to the west coast during busy shipping seasons.
  • If you have placed an order that requires changes, please reach out immediately – changes to shipping address and products can only be made before your package is shipped. Call our customer service at 802-849-7943 (please leave a message if you don’t receive an answer or if it is outside of business hours, and we will get back to you soon.)
If you notice an issue after your package has shipped, please contact us and we can advise if any options are available at that time. If you need to edit items on an order before it ships, it may be necessary to cancel and re-place the order – we are happy to walk you through the process.
  • If you placed an order containing any pre-order items, the entire order will not ship until the pre-order is ready (as specified on the ordering page). If you would like the rest of the items sooner, you will need to place one order for the in-stock items to ship immediately, and a second order for the pre-order items to ship when they become available. If you have already placed an order and need to make changes, please reach out to our customer service at [email protected] for assistance.
We appreciate your patience – it will be worth the wait!
