Frequently Asked Questions

Product Questions

Are your products Vegan-friendly?
Our line of maple products are vegan-friendly with the exception of our Wildflower Honey Infused, which contains bee honey. Our new line of Runamok honey is not considered vegan-friendly, as honey is an animal product.

Are your products Non-GMO?
Our products do not contain GMO’s, however, we are not non-GMO certified.

Are your products Certified Organic?
Almost all our maple syrup, maple cocktail mixers, and maple bitters are certified organic by Vermont Organic Farmers, with the exception of Merquen Infused and Sparkle Syrup.

Our honey is not certified organic. Honey is a wild harvested product and we use only domestic honey from some of the best beekeepers around the United States. The reality, however, is that bees travel far and wide to collect their nectar so it is incredibly difficult to set and uphold a standard for certifying that every plant and flower visited is organic. We uphold rigorous quality standards for our producers and all of our ingredients, and we believe in the value of organic agricultural practices and environmental stewardship — so we do use organic ingredients whenever they are available, and we select the best quality ingredients when organic is not available.

Are your products certified Kosher?

Yes! Our products are all kosher certified by the Orthodox Union.

Are your products Gluten Free?
Honey and organic maple syrup are naturally gluten free, however our products and facility are not certified gluten free. We suggest that anyone with Celiac disease or a severe gluten intolerance steer clear of our barrel-aged maple products, as these syrups are aged in barrels formerly used for spirits such as whiskey.

What’s the Shelf Life?
Our Maple Syrup products have a shelf life of 3 years from the date of production, and our honey products have a shelf life of 4 years from the date of production — though maple syrup and honey will never go bad if stored properly. Our Cocktail Mixers have a shelf life of 2 years. Our bitters have a shelf life of 5 years.

Do your products need to be refrigerated?
Our maple syrup and cocktail syrups both need to be refrigerated once opened. Bitters and honey do not need to be refrigerated after they’ve been opened.
