This cocktail by Amy B. combines gin, blueberry juice and Runamok’s Cardamom Infused Maple. Amy gives a convenient method for extracting the juice below, but we also found that putting some blueberries in a blender and straining makes for a pretty good substitute.
The Sugar House Widow
- 1 ½ oz gin
- 1 oz Blueberry Juice Concentrate (recipe follows)
- ½ oz Runamok Cardamom Infused Maple Syrup
- ¼ oz lemon juice
- 2-3 tablespoons of maple sugar, for rimming glass
Cut a lemon in half, and use one half to edge a vintage martini glass. Rim the martini glass rim in maple sugar, and set aside. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and fill with gin and blueberry juice, and give a couple shakes to mix it up. Let sit while you squeeze the lemon juice. Add lemon juice and maple syrup to shaker. Shake for about 20-30 seconds so the maple syrup mixes well. Pour into the maple sugar rimmed cocktail glass.
Blueberry Juice Concentrate
Reserve the juice left over from thawing frozen blueberries. Strain the juice.
