This is a drink brought to us by our friend, Tara Snyder, the food photographer and recipe developer behind @bearnecessities___. It combines all of the best warming flavors of the colder months: ginger, honey, sage, and whiskey. A traditional whiskey sour uses egg white but we find this is great without it, too.

Ingredients

*Honey Simple Syrup

Instructions

  • 1 To make the honey simple syrup: combine syrup ingredients – honey, water, sage, ginger - in a small saucepan and cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat, discard sage leaves and ginger, and set aside.
  • 2 To make the cocktail: Combine whiskey, bitters, lemon juice, egg white, and honey simple syrup in a cocktail shaker and shake for about 30 seconds.
  • 3 Add ice and shake again until foamy.
  • 4 Strain the liquid into a coupe glass and garnish with fresh sage leaves.
