Maple Rice Krispies

Recipe By: Laura Sorkin

Maple Rice Krispies are a classic recipe with a Runamok spin. While the maple flavor isn’t strong, it adds a caramel-richness that takes this bake sale staple from ‘sweet fun’ to ‘addictive’. We tried them with a variety of our barrel-aged and infused varieties and found that the infused ones really stand out, particularly Salted Caramel Maple and Blueberry-Lemon Infused Maple. One thing that remains the same is that they are easy, kid-friendly treats.

3 Tbsp butter

6 oz marshmallows

3 Tbsp Runamok Sugarmaker’s Cut Pure, Blueberry Lemon, or Salted Caramel Infused Maple

3 cups Rice Krispies

Instructions

Butter an 8 x 8 inch pan or one of similar size. Set aside.

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and marshmallows over medium heat. Once they are mostly melted, add the maple syrup and stir until completely melted.

Pour the Rice Crispies into a large bowl and add the marshmallow mixture. Gently stir until all of the cereal is coated. Scoop the mixture into the buttered pan and evenly spread to the edges. Set aside to cool.

Cut into squares and serve.
