QUEBECOIS PUDDING CHOMEUR
Pudding Chômeur is a dessert in which simple biscuit dough is poached in maple syrup caramel. According to the Canadian Encyclopedia, the dish originated in the depression era when housewives relied on desserts made with simple ingredients. The literal translation means “pudding of the unemployed,” though there is absolutely nothing austere about it.

SAGE GINGER WHISKEY SOUR
This is a drink brought to us by our friend, Tara Snyder, the food photographer and recipe developer behind @bearnecessities___. It combines all of the best warming flavors of the colder months: ginger, honey, sage, and whiskey. A traditional whiskey sour uses egg white but we find this is great without it, too.

CITRUS GINGER APRICOT CAKE
We loved the mix of orange, maple and apricot and gave it a further twist with Runamok’s Ginger Infused Maple and some extra butter in the sauce. This makes a small cake that is perfect to have around for breakfast or afternoon tea. Plus, they make a lovely gift presentation tied up with citrus peel, a sprig of fresh herbs, and a sweet note or accompanying bottle of Runamok.

MAPLE CANDIED CRANBERRIES
The best Christmas treats are as dazzling to the eye as they are to the palate. These are whole cranberries soaked in simple syrup and then rolled in sugar. You can use them as a snack unto themselves or as a garnish for a bigger dessert such as cake.

PEPPERMINT BARK HOT COCOA
Runamok’s Peppermint Bark Maple Syrup is so good in hot cocoa, it’s like it was made for it. The maple gives a caramel sweetness, the cocoa nibs boost the chocolate richness, and the peppermint is bright and seasonal.
