Hot Buttered Rum with Maple

When dreaming up a cocktail that uses our Holiday Spice Maple, I wanted to highlight the warm spices of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and clove. After some research, I discovered that a typical Hot Buttered Rum uses all of those spices plus some sugar. The addition of apple cider only puts it over the top into warm cocktail Nirvana.

Ingredients

  • ¾ oz Festivus Infused Maple Syrup or Holiday Spice Infused Maple Syrup
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp apple cider
  • 1 oz dark rum
  • cinnamon stick, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Put the syrup, water, butter, and cider in a small pot. 
  2. 2Turn on stove to medium heat and let it heat until it just starts to simmer.Stir to make sure it is blended. 
  3. 3Remove from the heat and add the rum. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and serve.
