Love Potion #6

Why is this called Love Potion #6?  Because you need six days to make the pear-vodka infusion.  It will give you six days to contemplate your deep feelings for your beloved. Six days to wonder how it is he is so stealth at stealing the blanket at night.  Six full days of reminiscing over his record of hits and misses for Valentines over the years.  And then remembering the times he brushed the snow off your car, in the morning, before leaving in his own.  If you are smart, you will take the time to think of something nice to do in return.  Making the following cocktail is a good start.

Runamok Maple - Recipe Love Potion #6

Ingredients

For vodka-pear infusion:

  • 1 pear
  • 1 cup vodka

For cocktail:

  • 2 oz pear-infused vodka
  • 1 tsp Jasmine Tea Infused Maple Syrup
  • ½ tsp fresh lemon juice
  • ice
  • Sliced pear garnish

Instructions

To make vodka-pear infusion, slice the very top and bottom off of the pear and discard.  Slice the remaining pear and put into a jar.  Pour vodka over the fruit so it covers it completely.  Put the lid on and let it sit for six days or up to a month.

For the cocktail, combine the pear-infused vodka, Jasmine Tea Infused Maple Syrup and lemon juice in a shaker with ice.  Shake well until nicely chilled and combined.  Pour into a martini or other cocktail glass, straining out the ice.  Garnish with fresh pear.
